                Materials:

  • Basketball Hoop
  • Basketball
Step 1: Square Up. (Balance)
The first thing you need to have a good shot is a good base. To have a good base, you need to have your feet should with apart, and place your dominant hand side foot slightly forward. Next, you need to have chest facing the hoop.

Step 2: How to Hold the Ball.
Take the ball in your dominate hands fingertips without the palm of your hand touching.

Step 3: Aiming. (Eyes) (Elbow in)
The main parts to aiming are your eyes, your elbow, and your guide hand. First, your eyes, you need to focus on the back of the rim. Next, your elbow, you need to tuck it in. Finally, with your guide hand, place it just on the side of the ball, but don't push with it.

Step 4: Finishing Your Shot. (Following through)
You need to extend your arm and follow through by snapping your wrist. Some people like to call extending your arm, and snapping your wrist, the gooseneck.

Conclusion:
One easy way to remember all these steps is BEEF: Balance, Eyes, Elbow in, and Follow through. The first couple of times you try this you should start close, and once you start feeling comfortable start moving your way out farther. Did this speech teach you how to shoot a basketball?
